After 20 years since the last excavation by Ian Hodder on the Konya Plain, during these two decades archaeologists have not stopped investigating the Neolithic settlement of Çatalhöyük which became famous for its great extension and density. Excavation 21 will begin shortly in this place as it was added to the UNESCO list last year.

This settlement provides information on settlements that took place over 2,000 years ago, first discovered in 1950 and excavated by James Mellart between 1961 and 1965.

Due to the fact that the place is on the UNESCO lists this year, its visits are expected to increase, so one of the objectives of the archaeologists is to build experimental houses so that visitors can obtain information about human life from 9,000 years ago. years. Paintings of animals characteristic of the period will be made as they are accepted as one of the first works of art.

Other objectives of archaeologists will be to carry out the protection and land preparation to more effectively welcome your visitors without neglecting availability for excavations.

Preparations are expected to begin this month, attempting to begin excavations on the 25th thanks to the collaboration of 130 archaeologists from around the world.

I was born in Madrid on August 27, 1988 and since then I started a work of which there is no example. Fascinated by both numbers and letters and a lover of the unknown, that is why I am a future graduate in Economics and Journalism, interested in understanding life and the forces that have shaped it. Everything is easier, more useful and more exciting if, with a look at our past, we can improve our future and for that… History.
